I’m hoping to bring a crew from the Waikiki Yacht Club again this year. Please send the registration information as soon as it is available. We had a great time last year and want to do it all over again. Thanks.

We’re hoping to enter 2 crews from the UK - please can you add me to the list for receiving entry information, and does anyone know who may have boats for hire? Thanks.

  4. Laurent CARMONA Says:

My name is Laurent Carmona and I am the proud president of “Te Ui Hoe” an outrigger canoe club here in Tahiti, French Polynesia.

Our club has participated in almost all the offcial races such as “Hawaiki Nui” (3 participations) “RFO” (Tahiti Moorea: 3 participations) “Faati Moorea” (2 participations) and you might have heard of our “vaaa” (canoe in Tahitian), because year after year we’ve built up a good fan base here in Tahiti and a pretty good reputation around the name of “pink panther”, due to the colour of our canoe !!

Eventhough we are not a conventionnal sporting club (if we have participated in almost all the races, we have won none of them !) our values are friendship, mix of cultures, exchanges… and fun !

But there is that one race we would love to be able to run: the liberty challenge in the manhattan harbour !

Which is the reason why I am getting in touch with you today: Your name and adress are mentionned on the New York outrigger website as the point of contact for the organisation of the race. Are the dates and the rest of the registration details already available for the 2008 edition ?
