Race Program

Women’s Race Program

The Women’s Race Program is meant to build strength, confidence, and teamwork. Open to women of all ages who are competition driven and focused on improving technique and building physical fitness. Paddlers will paddle together and work on overall blend.

Advanced focus on all aspects of outrigger paddling including steering, huli drills and change drills specifically for racing. Emphasis is to train for performance in iron races of 15-20 miles.

Schedule

Our paddle season typically runs from May-September.

Tuesdays: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Thursdays: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Saturdays 10:00am – 12:00pm

Men’s Race Program

The Men’s Race Program is meant to build strength, confidence and teamwork. Open to men of all ages who are competition driven and focused on improving technique and building physical fitness. Paddlers will paddle together and work on overall blend.

Advanced focus on all aspects of outrigger paddling including steering, huli drills and change drills specifically for racing. Emphasis is to train for performance in iron races of 15-20 miles.

Sundays: 8:00am – 10:00am

Objective: Advanced technique and conditioning for race competitions

Preferred Experience: Minimum (1) full season

Preferred Abilities and expectations:

  • Growth Program or Equivalent
  • Ability to paddle OC1 at least 1600 meters (1 mile) and recover from a huli.
  • For those with at least (3) years of experience: Basic steering skills and able to rig an OC6.
